Youth Custody & Detention - Youth Workers

Qualifications:

• Experience with young persons/troubled youth in an open and/or secure custody and detention facility
• Skilled in counseling, behaviour management, group facilitation, and team work
• CYW / COMMUNITY & JUSTICE Diploma or a Bachelor’s degree in a related field
• Driver’s licence, First Aid/CPR required
• CPIC

Responsibilities:

Provide direct and on-going therapeutic supervision and care to residents including:

• Basic daily care of residents, including health care and safety
• Behaviour management of residents through cognitive-behavioural methods, modeling, positive reinforcement, utilizing therapeutic relationship and education
• Group work and individualized case management planning
• Work co-operatively as part of a team
