Residential
Programs
Kennedy House operates
five residential group homes, providing care
to hard-to-serve adolescent
clients. Referrals to these programs are made, and funded,
by Children's Aid Societies across Ontario. All homes
are clean and attractive and feature twenty-four hour
a day staffing. All homes have
associated school programs operated in association
with local boards of education, the majority of which
are located in community schools. Kennedy Hosue operates
programs for both male and female clients.
All homes
offer effective clinical programming.
All operate as structured
milieus, with effective incentive programs, encouraging
pro-social behaviour. The homes deliver Cognitive
Behavioural components, including anger management and
problem solving. On going counselling is provided
by front-line staff, program social workers and other
clinical team
members. A consulting psychiatrist assesses and offers
treatment to many of our clients. The clinical programming
is supported through care and treatment offered in our
school programs, as well as through group and recreational
programming.
